R³ Devotional - Day 60
by Jose Maldonado on March 1st, 2025
Psalm 90, attributed to Moses, is a profound meditation on God's eternity and humanity's fleeting existence.   God's Eternity:This psalm emphasizes God's timeless nature. He is "from everlasting to everlasting" (Psalm 90:2). This highlights the contrast between God's unchanging presence and the brevity of human life. The Brevity of Human Life:Notice how it portrays the shortness and fragility of hu...  Read More
R³ Devotional - Day 59
by Justin McCoy on February 28th, 2025
I love the heading of the first section of Numbers 11, “The People Complain.” Our journey this far has shown God providing for and protecting His people, yet when times get a little tough, the people complain. They complain after witnessing the ten plagues and the Red Sea parted for their safe passage across. I often sit in amazement (even from personal experience) at how we can see God moving in our lives, and yet still find something to complain about!   Read More
R³ Devotional - Day 58
by Shawna Cohn on February 27th, 2025
Numbers 8 is a chapter on the completion of the Tabernacle and precision, obedience, and dedication. Portraying God’s specific instructions to Moses about the lamp stand in the tabernacle and the purification of the levites. Focusing on the importance of following God’s instructions and consecration for service. An invitation to reflect on how we can better serve God. Numbers 9 describes the Israelites’ second Passover celebration in the wilderness. Reminding us that obedience in God, even in difficult seasons, leads to blessings. The Israelites celebrated Passover despite the wilderness environment. The cloud is a symbol of God’s presence and guidance. In Numbers 10, the Israelites journey from the wilderness of Sinai to the wilderness of Paran. Two silver trumpets for summoning the congregation and for breaking camp. If both trumpets were blown together, all the people would gather at the Tabernacle. The priests were tasked with blowing the trumpets. The trumpets were a continual reminder of God’s presence and help. The Israelite camp moved following the cloud, setting up camp as instructed by the Lord. The families of the Levites transported the tabernacle.  Read More
R³ Devotional - Day 57
by Brook Serres on February 26th, 2025
In Numbers 7, we see something beautiful unfold: the leaders of Israel come together, each bringing an offering to dedicate the altar. It’s easy to skim through these chapters and think it’s all about animals and precious items being given, but at the heart of it, this moment is about obedience, unity, and God’s presence. Imagine what it must have been like for those leaders. They knew their offerings would pave the way for God to meet with them in a special way. Each of them gave from the heart, following God’s instructions down to the last detail. It wasn’t about the size of the gift—it was about the surrender of their hearts. What does this mean for us? We, too, are called to offer something to God—our time, our talents, our hearts. We’re invited to step into a life of obedience, just like the leaders did, trusting that God will meet us in our offering. And like those tribes, when we offer what we have in unity with others, we create space for God to show up and bless us.  Read More

The entire book of Numbers is about getting the house of God in Order. Preparing God’s people for entering the Promised Land. Getting organized, helping the people receive and apply God’s Law through service and their walk, and reminding them of their experiences in suffering and successes. Paul sums it up well in Romans 11:22 – “goodness and severity of God”.   Read More
R³ Devotional - Day 54
by Patsy Klunkert on February 23rd, 2025
In the second month of the second year, after Israel came out of the land of Egypt, God commanded Moses to take a census of the men who were fit to fight from ages 20 years and older. He was to organize them by household, family, and tribe, and each family had its own banner and a standard (flag) for every three tribes. God commanded Moses to appoint one man from each tribe to help him, and told Moses which man it should be. The number of the men fit to fight was 603,550 and after adding wives, children, and the Levite tribe to that number, it made it well over a million people for Moses to lead.  Read More

Promises of Blessings (verses 1-13): Emphasis on the importance of not making idols and observing the Sabbath. If the Israelites follow God's decrees and keep His commandments, He will send rain in its season, and the land will yield its crops. God promises peace in the land and protection from enemies. "I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down, and no one will make you afraid." "I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people."  Read More
R³ Devotional - Day 52

As we read about the case of blasphemy (cursing God) and punishment, it seems quite extreme by today’s standards. But it shows how seriously God expects us to take our relationship with Him. Often, we use His name in swearing or we act as though He doesn’t exist. We should be careful how we speak and act, treating God with reverence.   Read More

God gave the people of Israel rules for them to live by, to worship, and for sacrifices. He also gave rules for sickness, such as the ones mentioned in this chapter Leprosy and bodily discharges. It might be something weird to read about or understand, but at the time, they did not have a cure for leprosy, and discharges were also considered part of human uncleanliness. So God gave a set of instructions on how to deal with these cases. Here are some things we could learn and apply to us today.  Read More
R³ Devotional - Day 47

In these you will read about clean and unclean animals to eat or not. You read the purification process after childbirth and the appropriate offerings. You will read instructions for identifying and handling skin diseases, which were ceremonially unclean. Remember these were laws for them at that time. They were to help maintain them healthy and clean. But it also reminds us of how God insists that we may live a holy and pure lifestyle in this world. So that we can be a witness.   Read More

Then in chapter 40, we see the erection and arrangement of the Tabernacle according to Gods instructions to Moses. God gave Moses specific instructions, which Moses ensured were followed precisely. Moses then inspected all the works of the people and found they were done as the Lord commanded and he blessed them.  Read More

We find ourselves here wrapping up God’s instructions on the Tabernacle (Tent of the Meeting) and its components. The Lord then turns to very specific anointing oil and incense recipes with some very strict warnings on their...  Read More

When you build any type of construction, it requires different activities to give life to the project. Personally, one step I enjoy is the elaboration of construction drawings. The more details they have allow you to understand the designer’s idea, quotations can be done with more accuracy and mostly ease the project elaboration. It’s so thrilling when the project is built, you get to experience the concept in a whole different way through the shapes, colors, spaces, lighting effects, decor, and more. But honestly… today’s Exodus chapters are even more fascinating; we get to learn more about God and his people through a similar undertaking.  Read More
