R³ Devotional - Day 112

R³ Devotional - Day 112 Psalm 6, 8, 9, 10, 14, 16, 19, 21

By: Jose Maldonado

Psalm 6 is a heartfelt lament where the psalmist cries out to God in deep distress.

He may feel the Lord is correcting him in anger or in wrath he is being disciplined. His bones hurt, he is tired, he has been cryin, his soul is in anguish, in emotional turmoil. His eyes are swollen because of the grief he is experiencing. He feels his enemies are around. So he is urgently and persistent in asking the Lord for mercy, deliverance, for emotional, spiritual and even physical healing. He reminds God to act according to His steadfast love.

Real Life Principles:
  • God is always just in his actions.

  • God is always available; therefore, pray always.

  • God is the only one who gives true healing.

Relevant Life applications:
  •  Be Honest with God: Don't hide your pain or struggles. God welcomes your raw emotions and vulnerability in prayer.

  •  Pray Persistently: Like the psalmist's urgent cries, bring your needs before God repeatedly and don't give up hope.

  •  Trust God's Character: Even in suffering, remember and rely on God's love, mercy, and faithfulness.

  •  Reflect on Your Life: Consider if any personal sin might be contributing to your distress and seek forgiveness.

  •  Hold onto Assurance: Even in dark times, believe that God hears you and can bring about a turning point and ultimate victory.

  •  Find Hope in God's Justice: Trust that God will ultimately deal with those who oppose you or cause you harm.

Real Action Steps:
  • Go to God for instructions….obey Him.
