R³ Devotional - Day 110

R³ Devotional - Day 110 Psalm 121, 123-125, 128

By: Anderson Baptist Church

He is risen! Let’s rejoice! Hopefully, you will be joining us this morning at the Grimes County Fairgrounds, or you already were there with us celebrating our Savior.

Today’s Psalms are truly beautiful, I encourage you to treasure them in your mind and heart.
Short and straight to the point, they all encourage us to trust the Lord. As I read them, I imagined the psalmists singing on how they had the assurance of trusting the Lord and knowing He was going to be their helper in different situations. Their confidence is on the one and only true omnipotent God and that HE can keep them from all evil forever.

Real: Life Principles

  • God is omnipotent: As you read today's verses, the psalmists acknowledge the creation God did. Have you seen the creation? To be able to do it, perfectly and in one week, you certainly have to be powerful. Knowing that gives us assurance we can trust our lives to Him, no matter the situation we are going through.

  • “The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.” Psalm 121:7 A day like today, but more than 2000 years ago, Jesus rose from the grave to give us eternal life. God has given us that amazing gift. He loves us so much he willingly gave his one and only Son to die for us. Through Him, we can leave behind a life full of sorrow and death. We can celebrate like the psalmists and know we will live eternally with Him.

Relevant: Life Applications

  • Trust the Lord always: The psalmists share throughout the verses the Lord is their helper, their keeper. Trust Him today as well to be your Lord, your keeper.  Everything in this world is temporary. Money and material things come and go. We can go weary or lose our health trying to gain everything or fighting every battle on our own. Trusting Him gives us peace, and the assurance we won’t be “swallowed up” by earthly things.

  • Share how God helps you every day: As believers, through our walk with God, we have gotten the chance of experiencing his help. We have been able to receive and live the greatest gift of all thanks to the mercy and grace He has extended to us. We might not write psalms, but we can witness to others through messages, social media or conversations about his love, blessings and most importantly the redeeming work of Jesus. You can start today!

Ready: Life Actions

  • Don’t get caught up by earthly things, lift your eyes always to the one and only omnipotent God. Daily discover more about Him and his amazing love, by reading His word and praying.

  • Share more about Jesus and what He’s doing in your life. Sharing the Gospel and the impact on your life to a friend, relative or anybody that knows you, might help them find out how powerful is Jesus and that He is able to change and give eternal life.
