R³ Devotional - Day 210
R³ Devotional - Day 210 - Isaiah 51
By: Daniel Arguijo
Isaiah chapters 49-53 talk about the redemption of Israel, how God is going to restore the nation. Once again, God is showing his love and mercy after all that they were admonished and warned about in the beginning of the book.
And in the middle of the reading for today, we found a couple of verses that caught my attention. In Chapter 51 verses 1-3, the Lord is calling all of those who pursue his righteousness, who seek the Lord. God was calling his believers at the time, and today He is calling our attention to what He is about to say.
God says: “Look to the rock, look to Abraham”. He is pointing out the covenant he had already made with the people of Israel that they had forgotten. The covenant in which they were chosen as his people and would be blessed by God for generations. However, they decided to go far from that and not trust him.
God wants them to remember that promise and calls them to trust Him. As he has proven himself to be the true, powerful God, he can still prove it today. This is true for us today. We need to trust the Lord with our hearts that he has chosen us to be his children, and that he has a promise of salvation for us. One day, he will return for us, and we will be with him eternally.

Real: Life Principles
- God made a covenant with Israel, and if you are his children, he has made a covenant with you as well, and he always fulfills his promises.
- As believers, we need to trust the Lord, the faithful God who has sent us the saviour of our lives.
Relevant: Life Applications
- God is always on the move in our lives; he is protecting us, guiding us, and supporting us. This is what he calls out in this passage. Look back and see what he has done in our lives.
- God’s faithfulness is with us. Even when we don’t see it or feel it, it’s always there. Do you trust him?
Ready: Life Action Steps
- Look back, see what he has done in your life. He has given you Jesus, the savior; he has given you a new life in him; he has given you a purpose. Do you need anything else to trust Him?
- Look Forward. We have the experience of the past, now we can live a life of trust with Him, and live for Him, being assured He is always there for us.
