R³ Devotional - Day 318
R³ Devotional - Day 318 - Mark 16
By: Anderson Baptist Church
A summary of Mark 16: Grief turns into Hope, Doubt turns into Belief and Fear turns into Joy.
As the women approached the tomb in grief, where was their faith in the resurrection of Jesus? They had gone to prepare the body as was custom. Then they found the tomb open, and Jesus gone. In fear, they ran to tell the disciples.
Then Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene and then he appeared to the two on the road to Emaus. and then to the eleven disciples. There doubt became Belief
Then he appeared to the eleven disciples. He rebuked the eleven because of their unbelief, verse 14: “Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen.” There doubt now had become Belief
Afterwards, with all present, they were able to see Jesus ascend to heaven.
19So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
Leaving them and us Hope. Knowing Our Faith in Christ is Real, our Hope in Christ is real, and our Joy in Christ is real.
REAL - Life Principle: Faith is real. Don’t waiver. Be strong in the Lord. “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” – Psalm 28:7
RELEVANT - Life Application: “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13
READY – Action Steps: Verse 15: And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Jesus is speaking directly to us - are you ready? What did the disciple do? Verse 20 “And they went out and preached everywhere”. Never ask if God is speaking to you. You know the answer – HE is!
