R³ Devotional - Day 251

R³ Devotional - Day 251 - Ezekiel 37

By: Anderson Baptist Church

Ezekiel 37 offers a rich tapestry of prophetic imagery and spiritual truths, especially for leaders who are deeply invested in restoration, unity, and multiplication within the church. Sometimes God leads us into dry places—not to abandon us, but to reveal His power. The valley isn’t the end; it’s the beginning of restoration. Ezekiel saw dry bones, but God saw an army. Faith begins by seeing brokenness through God’s eyes. God’s Word brings life. When we speak His truth over our families, ministries, and communities, dry bones begin to rattle. Bones came together before breath entered. God often rebuilds in stages—don’t rush what He’s forming. Structure without Spirit is lifeless. We must invite the Holy Spirit to fill what we’ve built.

Real Life Principles
God Initiates Restoration: Revival begins with divine initiative. Ezekiel didn’t choose the valley—God led him there. Be attentive to where God places you, even if it looks lifeless. He may be preparing a resurrection. “The hand of the Lord was upon me…” (v.1)
See the Reality, Not Just the Ruin: Effective ministry requires honest assessment. Don’t ignore brokenness—walk among it with spiritual eyes. Ezekiel was led “among” the bones and saw they were “very dry” (v.2).

Speak Life by Faith: Faith doesn’t deny reality—it defers to God’s power. Speak life even when hope seems lost. God asks, “Can these bones live?” Ezekiel replies, “O Lord God, you know.” (v.3)

Proclaim the Word, Not Just Wishes: Restoration comes through the Word. Programs and passion are helpful, but only God’s Word revives. “Prophesy over these bones… hear the word of the Lord.” (v.4)

God’s Process Is Progressive: Don’t despise partial progress. God often rebuilds in stages—structure before spirit. Bones come together, then sinews, flesh, skin… but no breath yet (v.7–8).

Call for the Spirit: Structure without Spirit is lifeless. Pray and proclaim for the Holy Spirit to fill what’s been rebuilt. “Prophesy to the breath… breathe on these slain…” (v.9)

God Raises an Army, Not Just Individuals: Revival isn’t just personal—it’s corporate. God restores to mobilize. they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.” (v.10)

Relevant Life Applications
Don’t avoid broken communities or discouraged congregants. Like Ezekiel, walk among them, listen, and ask God what He sees.

Use God’s Word for lifeless situations—marriages, ministries, youth groups, even church conflict.

Organize ministries, train leaders, develop systems—but never stop praying for the breath of the Spirit.

Restoration isn’t just for healing—it’s for deployment. Equip people to serve, lead, and multiply.

Ready Action Step.
Pray, obey.
